Black Flame sequence : 1995

I decided to see what would happen if I only used monochrome dye – again, with wax washed out after each layer. There is a sense of spatial ambiguity in this technique of dyeing. We can see that each dyed shape is on a separate layer, but it is unclear which layer lies in front, which behind. There is a continual perceptible shift between layers.
