Colournotes : Northern Spain
The original information for this collection of images was taken from several sketchbooks, between 2013 and 2017.
It was sometimes quite fragmentory – simple colour jottings, line drawings or sketches, often made while travelling. Something vivid – a scent; a glimpse of an acid yellow field, might be gone in a flash, leaving time only for a scribble of line and colour; yet there would remain a persistent memory of a place, or moment in time. Later, I continued drawing on screen, re-creating the memory through layers of image and colour.
